XC/Trail - 650B - Carbon Frame - Saracen Kili Flyer X 2017

For a bike trip in the mountains of Mordor.

Introduction :

Anyone who has ever seen the Lord of the ring movie knows what im talking about (and if not, what are you waiting for, watch it !). The whole Lord of the ring series allways shows beautifull landscapes. Mountain landscapes. And, as a good mountainbiker, when I see mountains, I think trails ! Thats why I built that Kili (and now that you have seen the movies, you know what kili refers to. Im probably way too high, but that frame instantly made me think about those movies...)
Spoiler:
There, now you know who Kili is !
The Kili is a Trail/All mountain bike with 130mm of travel on the rear, and as much on the front and its frame comes at 2.5KG with a kashima coated fox float DPS rear shock.

Suspension :

On front, I choosed a Fox 36, factory edition with 140mm of travel. The 36 chassis should provide enough stiffness, alowing the bike to go pretty much anywhere you want. ( yes, it also includes a feature that lets you roll over Orks and gobelins like nothing !).

Transmission :

To get this thing moving, I choosed Sram's 12 speed system, with a nice mix of XX1 and XO1 eagle :
XX1 Eagle for the 10-50 cassette (I can't resist to that gold color...), the chain the shifter and the crankset (which has a 32t chainring). To add some color (and get a stronger package) to the bike, I took an XO1 Eagle rear derailleur. Other color touches : the housings for the gears are red.
Allmost makes you thing you are using a pure gold bike...
Oh, and as for the bottom bracket, its of course a Chris King ceramic one...

Drive train :

It was a long time I didnt use Enve wheels... You'll find Enve M60 rims, paired with Chris King ceramic ISO hubs (15x100 on front and 12x142 rear for the spacings) using Sapim CX ray spokes.
About 1500gr for my wheelset ? I'll take it ! Tyres are both from Maxxis with a 2.3 high roller on the rear, and a 2.4 Ardent on front.

Brakes :

I think you got it, I like playing with the colors, thats why you wont find the same brake front and rear ! On front, you'll find Magura's special edition of the MT7s (their high end quad piston brakes used by Danny MacAskill) called Raceline. Behind, you'll find the classic version of the MT7, much less yellow but still beautifull and with tons of stopping power !
Flashy Raceline edition...

Or basic Mt7s ? I'll do both !

Oh, and for those who are thinking that the levers won't be the same... We are on a dream bike, we are not counting money... So I'd use 2 Raceline levers with a Raceline caliper and a normal caliper !
Disc rotors are Hope's floating red ones, 180mm of diameter.

Other stuff :

The saddle is a red Ergon SME3M pro with carbon rails, and is moved up and down by a Fox Transfer Factory dropper post, itself clamped by a yellow Hope seat clamp.
The stem is a red 50mm Hope DH, clamping a carbon Reverse Components Seismic handlbar. Its yellow, has a rise of 10mm and is 790mm wide for better control. Finally, grips are also from Reverse, with the red Stamp lock on.
Grab the bull by its horn.

For the pedals, I choosed the Crank Brothers Mallet E 11.

Conclusion :

Dwarf lives in the mountain, they are only confortable there, just as that Kili. It is only 12.3 KG (for 9340€...) which allows fairly easy climbs, while its big suspensions and all around geometry makes it comfortable going downhill... is there anything better ?
