Enduro - 650B - Alluminium Frame - Commencal Meta AM V4 2016

I love the Commencal style, and I always did, especially for the colors they have. This is why I decided to build one today. And this Commencal will be the first AL frame in this website. But dont worry ! This dosn't means that it wont be as good as the others...

Introduction :

As I said, I always loved Commencal's bikes, and I had a surprise when I choosed the frame : they dont have Carbon bike, not any.
Well, after a few time, I realised that it is not such a big problem, since looking at that blog, you might think that there is only carbon on the biking market. Evidence is here : there isn't only. So here is my High end Commencal Meta AM V4 setup...
Pro-carbon can say whatever they want, to ride fast in the most agressive trails, nothing is better than Aluminium :D
"A COMMENCAL bike never aroused so much controversy and interest. For a very long time, we thought all-round bikes (trail, enduro, bike park) didn’t exist. Yet ..."
Max COMMENCAL.

Here is a quotation that clearly introduces what is that bike really about...

 Suspensions :

As it is aluminium,  the goal of that bike won't be to get the podium into the best EWS race, but a fun bike, with exotic components.
And this exotism will start with a BOS Deville FCV fork instead of the boring and usual suspensions like the Fox36 or the Rockshox Pike. I picked the black color, to match with the frame color.
For the rear shock, I took a RockShox Monarch Plus RC3 Debon Air, with a custom set of yellow stickers.

They both have 160mm of travel for an engaged Enduro ride, and the Deville has a 20mm axle for extra stiffness !

Transmission :

An aditional Sram One-By system on my bikes with a XX1 rear derailleur and shifter, and a Sram X01 cassette, for its black finish. A bit of tuning is added, with a Yellow finished 42T cog, and yellow pulleys for the derailleur. Sexy, isn't it ?

Add to this a E-Thirteen TRS+dual chainguide, Sram Slickwire (as always, with the color matched to the frame), a Race Face Next SL crankset going through with a Chris King ceramic botom bracket and a KMC X11SL chain, with a gold color and that will be all for my transmission !

Drive Train :

I noticed them since a pretty long time now, but I never found any oportunity to use them on any of my bikes, sometimes because of a Boost standard, sometimes because of its weight : the Cranck Brothers wheels, here on the Enduro version (the Iodine 3).  Around them, you will find two Hutchinson Squale tyre, 27.5x2.30.
Brakes :

You know that I like the Magura / Formula design, and this is why you'll find a pair of MT7 brakes here. They have a 4 piston caliper, for more power, and have a bit of yellow on it... Perfect ! Discs will be from Sram. Yes, Sram. I recently discovered that there are not any compatibility restriction between brakes and disc, and I like how the Centerline are looking like^^ Of course, for more heat resistance, the dics will have a 200mm diameter on front, and a 180mm diameter rear, and will be pinched by the Galfer pro pads.

Other peripherics :

Being able to lower your sadle while riding on an enduro bike is pretty much a mandatory, this is why you will find a Reverb internally routed on the Meta, hold in place by a yellow seat clamp. Saddle will be a Morgaw trian enduro with carbon rails, a saddle which has rubber choc absorbers built in, for more comfort if you have to be seating on it.
Headset will be, as the botom bracket, from Chris King with the InsetI2. Above it you will find a OnOff StoikHC 60mm stem, holding a Spank-Spike800Race VibroCore handlebars.
Finally, you will find a pair of SB3 Kheops lock-on grips, and a pair of CranBrothers Mallet E pedals.

Conclusion :

The result will be a 13.8KG bike which will cost 6420€ and will allow you to have some huge fun on engaged trails, and why not on Bike Parcs ?
