Enduro - 650B - Carbon Frame - Devinci Spartan Carbon 2016

Devinci. Such an awesome name. That man was a pure Genius ! I mean, he imaginated a lot of things that High tech nowadays ! A bike called Devinci can ONLY be awesome... So lets see what we can get with it !

Introduction :

The Spartan is Devinci's enduro bike, with 160mm of suspension travel for both front and rear (well, rear is 165, but never mind :D ). With that, they claim to make us to forget the traditional "RaceReady" bikes, and to take us to the next level : the "WarReady" !
And the Devinci Team tends to prove that its not such a bad bike, with a second place in the 2016 EWS for Damien Oton and a 10th place for Theo Galy for the Pro category, and a 6th place for Luke Dimarzo in the Under21 category, which brings Devinci at the 3rd place in the team rankings.
It comes at 3.2kg for the frame and the shock only, which is pretty ok, but not the best (we have 2.4kg with the Canyon Strive and 2.8kg for the Santa Cruz's Nomad.).

Suspension :

As you can see, its not the lightest bike ever, never mind, we'll make it strong ! The default shock  is a Monarch RC3 Debonair from RockShox, and the fork will be a BOS Deville Rare FCV 160mm.
Transmission :

You all hear about it and were wondering "Why doesn't he uses it, is he dumb ?" right ? So here it is : The Sram Eagle 12 speed groupset.
Actually, I feel like its a pretty stupid groupset, to be honest ! Why ? because Sram managed to make it compatible ONLY with itself, and not with other brands : you HAVE to use their crankset and chain, and I dont like it. But anyways, its still pretty awesome to have one more speed to use, this without any new standard !
For this bike, I made a nice XX1 and XO1 mix which makes something like this :  XX1 gold finished chain, rear derailleur, shifter and cranckset, and XO1 10-50 (sometimes, magic happens, Sram made it happened ! 10-50... i only have 11-36 :D) cassette. Why no gold cassette ? Because I wanted the gold touches to be sneaky, and it was a bit too much with the XX1.
The crankset will be spinning around a Hope PF41 bottom bracket, 92mm wide and 30mm axle diameter.

The chain will be hold in place by a Funn Zippa AM chain guide.

Drive Train :

Back to my dear Enve wheels ! With the M70-Thirty rims, set around the DT240 hub from DT swiss. Rims obviously have yellow stickers to match with the frame !
About Enve stickers, did you know that a set of stickers for both front and rear wheel will cost you... 75€ ?? you'd better choosing the color of your wheels carefully....
(yes, i know the picture is weird, i didnt find the right one and had to make a montage, by removing a tyre...)
Tyres are for Schwalbe with a pair of MagicMary, sized in 27.5x2.35.

Brakes :

Building my V10 (see it here) reminded me that I almost never used Sram Brakes... Therefore, you will find the Sram's Guide brakes, on their Ultimate version, associated with a pair of Alligator Starlight 203mm disc rotors.
Isn't that rotor so cute with its aggresive shape ?

Other Peripherics :

An exotic thing that I had fun to put in my bike was the seatpost. You probably heard about that, but Magura released its own one, which is controlled neither by cables or an hydrolic system, nor by both by both of these, but by an electrical wireless mechanism !
The saddle is a Fizik Gobi 00 Wing flex with carbon rails.
As I came back with Enve wheels, I realised that even if the brand was known especially for its wheels, it was also doing a bunch of other components that are actually competitive in terms of weight. Therefor, you will find an Enve MTB 40mm stem as much as an Enve Minnar riser bar 800mm wide and that rises your ends by 20mm.
Around them you will find some yellow SB3 Kheops lock-on grips.
Finally, pedals are from Xpedo with the wide plateformed Baldwin TI pedals !

Conclusion :

The final bike is a warrior that weights around  12.9KG. Again, its ok, but not super light, but I dont think that it was intended to be...
As allways, you will have to break the bank to get the 9 860€ needed to buy it, but who cares...

Preview :

New section as I told you ! I am not really satisfied by the final quality of the picture, since all the components are a bit fuzzy, as I had to reduce their size... Now, I know that I have to take the biggest picture of the frame I find and then adapt the components to it... Next one will be better !
